Comments Off on The Lamborghini Huracán Performante Named 2018 Robb Report Car of the Year
On October 5, 2016, a heavily disguised Lamborghini Huracán Performante broke the production-car record at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack with a lap time of 6 minutes, 52.1 seconds. Boasting advances in engine output, suspension tuning, and aerodynamics, the Italian supercar surpassed the Porsche 918 Spyder’s previous record by 5 seconds. The sophisticated hardware behind Lamborghini’s high-performance spin-off was key to its record-setting run, but an equally critical component was the man behind the wheel. Marco Mapelli, a test driver for Lamborghini, coaxed the landmark performance out of the 640 hp two-seater thanks to his years of experience in formula and endurance racing.
Understanding the intricate relationship between a car’s strengths and weaknesses—and how to exploit those qualities with proper driving techniques—is key for any driver who wants to extract the most from a vehicle. Such prowess [...]
Comments Off on The Clarkson Review: 2018 Lamborghini Huracán Performante
WE ARE used these days to cars that beep and bong constantly. They bong when you open the door, bong when you don’t immediately fasten your seatbelt, bong if you put a shopping bag on the passenger seat, bong if you try to start the engine without depressing the clutch first, bong if they think you’re going to bump into a lamppost, bong if you forget to turn the lights off or even if you leave your telephone in the glove box. Some even bong if you’ve nodded off.
But when it comes to making irritating noises all the bloody time, for no bloody reason, nothing gets close to the Lamborghini Huracán Performante. Bong, it went when I set off on a chilly London morning. This was because its TSU was malfunctioning. I had no [...]

Top Gear Review Lamborghini SSUV – Words: Charlie Turner
We get behind the wheel of Lamborghini’s 641bhp Urus on both track and trail.
Over two tonnes of super-SUV is heading towards the Italian scenery. Fast. This is bad. After a confidence-inspiring first lap around the Strada Bianca gravel circuit at the top-secret Nardò test facility in southern Italy, the combination of over-commitment and surface change sees me charging towards the bushes.
My subsequent slide into the right-hander continues for what seems like a heroic length of time but is, in reality, a couple of seconds and somehow I emerge out the other side. This is good.
Subsequent laps give me time to try and process more of what’s going on: the grip and acceleration is impressive, but the car’s poise is what grabs your attention. Its [...]
